Summer Reading Program
June 8 - July 18
Welcome to this year's annual summer reading program!
Each year in June and July, the library has a summer reading program for library users.
Children, teens and adults are welcome to participate in the program
Come join us for all kinds of fun!
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, the summer reading program is going to be a little different this year, but it’s still going to be lots of fun! For the health and safety of our community, patrons, and staff the summer reading program reading logs will be completely digital this year. All summer storytimes, “Getting Crafty" and special events will also be online.
New for Summer 2020, all your progress will be entered and recorded online in an Online Summer Reading Program. The portal is a product called Wandoo Reader and it’s used by libraries across the country. This year we've also added a new program. In addition to children (grades K-5), Teen (grades 6-12), and adult (18+), we've added a separate program for Preschoolers (birth through age5).
To sign up for the summer reading program, click on the appropriate image above. Read the information that appears on the right to determine the program rules. Then select “Join Here” and fill in the requested information. Make sure to write down your user name and password. Wandoo Reader includes the option to have a game-based program. As you log your reading, you earn points that allow you to level up through the storyline and receive “parts” you can use to change the appearance of your avatar. We’ve set it up so that the game is active for children and teens, but you can choose to turn it off. Adults will see the basic logging program.
Each participant can sign up for their own account. If you are a parent or guardian of multiple children or a daycare provider who would also like to participate in Summer Reading, you can register for a Family Management Portal account to handle all your family's or center's registrations under one account.
